kitchen Designs Evolution- The Introduction

Sometimes while studying, I come across creatively amazing kitchen design, I pause a little and look some more at those incredibly beautiful kitchen designs. I write down ideas for my next projects and hope to fulfill those dreams. Its amazing how creative we designers have gotten these days, its a sign that there is no room for slacks, no place for laziness. 


You know designing for someone else sometimes comes with limitations like; the size of the kitchen, Client's personal preferences, Clients taste and most especially, client's pocket. Most of those online pictures, just the granite topper alone is enough to create a decent kitchen in Nigeria, smiles. So we improvise most times except when our Clients wants to go all out. I had a Client recently that wanted all high end everything in his kitchen. To be honest that was the first of such I have experienced. The Nigeria in me stylishly advised him otherwise at some point but the Oga (Client) said nah. Even the marble he selected for the apartment he intended to rent out is fit for a king's kitchen. I thank God for that experience.

So a lot of times I look forward to and pray for opportunities to be able to showcase my creative sides in my job. And we all know that creativity could be quite expensive and most clients wants budget interior. I pray for those times to come that I could and I would be able to showcase my creative sides without any limitations.

The last kitchen I designed, the madam of the house got a lot of inspirations from the internet. She kept changing her mind on so many designs. Who would blame her, so many beautiful ideas to choose from. she even fell in love with one of my previous in-built kitchen microwave and oven. I wasn't the one that got those kitchen electronics and I had to help her find out. Unfortunately, those were way above her budget so we had to find a more affordable alternative.

Its good when you design kitchen to suit perfectly and purposefully and to maximize it's functionality. But what and how and which choices of functions you choose to apply all depends on one thing, your pocket.

MY CUTE LITTLE FLOWER VASES

So, I mostly pass by this particular building along Salvation road at Opebi in Ikeja. Most times I am always rushing to catch up with one meeting or one appointment or another. I noticed this entire building unlike others is occupied by Interior decorating product dealer or should I say sellers. There is this store at the ground floor of the building I kept seeing this two wonderful white and black colour flower vases (pair) with a single stick of an artificial fushial pink rose flower on each displaying from the show-window of this particular shop. I kept admiring it from afar. One larger size and the other smaller piece. So yesterday I decided to visit the store. I walked a very very long distance from where I was all because I wanted to see these vases. My dears they were even more beautiful seeing them closely. I met with the owner of the store, she is a professional interior decorator just like myself. She is an adorable senior friend. I priced the vases and I wondered why...
