 Why I love adequate Interior shelving



We all grow into our Interiors and sometimes when we outgrow that one and we then move into a new one. But what happens when the space is yours permanently. Hi, my name is Olukemi Olutola and I am an Interior Blogger/Decorator. One thing paramount with me in my line of business is that I always design mostly permanent homes for people. And that's why I think into the future for clients while designing their homes.

Shelves refers to anything made to store, hold or keep. It could be made of any form of material but today we are looking into the newest mode of storage materials which is wood or Imported boards. The gorgeousness of the designs made out of these materials to create appropriate shelves has been awesome. Media sections, Dinner area displays, Office shelves, Bedroom study areas, Kitchen Cabineteries, Display shelves, Book shelves just naming a few.

                                            

                                            

Ability to transform your house with these shelves while making it serve other purposes is amazing. I designed and created a bookshelf/dressing table/media shelve/storage shelf/decorative shelf first for a ladies bedroom and I have been adopting that pattern ever since. First it saves cost, then it saves space. And I designed this type for different bedrooms and it keeps looking new and amazing to me. The shelves are so beautiful and you can always modify it to work with your own space.

                                          




This insatiable human attributes of ours makes us want to keep buying more. Not until recently did decluster pages start spring up. No Yard sales in Nigeria as noticed in some more develop countries. So you can now follow decluster pages on several social media apps and decluster your unused items to help make your home look more tidy. But there is something about almost every one that doesn't allow us to let go of items that we rarely use. We have this," it could be useful in the nearest future" mentality and so we hold on to those items a little longer yet buying more

                                                 

That's why the importance of adequate shelving cannot be over emphasized in all types of interiors. I personally believe if you are creative and you can think through that nice well structured and designed shelves are one of the ways of adding beauty to any interior. This will also solve your storage needs and thereby making your home look so tidy and organised. Just make sure it's contemporary and you will always be thankful.

                                                     

The idea is to design the shelf to look like it's a planned structure. And that it's part of the house's interior.  So you do not get bored or tired of it, good and quality materials are required. Make sure it's the perfect colour, material, aesthetics and that it gives the right feeling and the ambiance is on point. Get your a proper designer to design what you love. MY CUTE LITTLE FLOWER VASES

So, I mostly pass by this particular building along Salvation road at Opebi in Ikeja. Most times I am always rushing to catch up with one meeting or one appointment or another. I noticed this entire building unlike others is occupied by Interior decorating product dealer or should I say sellers. There is this store at the ground floor of the building I kept seeing this two wonderful white and black colour flower vases (pair) with a single stick of an artificial fushial pink rose flower on each displaying from the show-window of this particular shop. I kept admiring it from afar. One larger size and the other smaller piece. So yesterday I decided to visit the store. I walked a very very long distance from where I was all because I wanted to see these vases. My dears they were even more beautiful seeing them closely. I met with the owner of the store, she is a professional interior decorator just like myself. She is an adorable senior friend. I priced the vases and I wondered why...
